Det. James Bellanca began his career with the Cleveland Division of Police on June 1, 1993. His first 5 years on duty were spent on basic patrol in the 2nd District. while the balance of his career has been spent serving the 4th District. Det. Bellanca has been detailed to the Crime Scene and Records Unit twice, and is even certified as a Crime Scene Tech through BCI.
Currently, Det. Bellanca handles general felony crime investigations and has also served as a guest instructor in the Academy for the past 6 years, teaching the crime scene course.
Det. Bellanca has been a longstanding member of the BSPA, even donating money to the organization on #givingtuesday.
Det. James Bellanca is recognized as the BSPA's Officer of the Month for January 2020 for his contributions with CPD and his support of our organization throughout the years.
We are proud of his contributions today and everyday.
