The Black Shield Police Association
---
Every year, the Black Shield Police Association purchases new book-bags and school supplies for the most vulnerable students and families in the Central and Buckeye-Shaker neighborhoods.
This year, WEWS Anchor Frank Wiley helped us get the word out to Northeast Ohio residents.
We are asking members of the public who are able to donate the following items:
Book-bags
#2 Pencils / Mechanical Pencils
Blue / Black Pens
Crayons / Colored Pencils / Markers
Glue sticks / Glue bottles
Highlighters
Notebooks / Loose-leaf paper
2-pocket folders
Facial tissues (New)
Deodorant (New)
Male / Female Undershirts (New)
Socks / Underwear (New)
Toothbrushes / Toothpaste (New)
Sweatshirts / Light jackets or sweaters (New)
New or gently used books (all ages)
Those that are unable to give physical donations can donate online at theblackshield.org/donate. Click "Donate”, select the drop-down menu and choose “BSPA Bookbag Drive.” 100% of donations will go directly to purchase supplementary supplies.
The Book-Bag Giveaway will be held on Saturday, July 27 from 12p to 4p at The Black Shield (4097 E. 131st Street).
It will feature barbers for back-to-school haircuts, music and light refreshments for attendees.
