The Black Shield Police Association

---

Detective Stephanie Maye began her storied career in public service in 1992, when she bravely served our country in the United States Army. She was stationed in Korea, as well as stateside in Fort Hood, TX. During her time in the Army, she received a Distinguished Service Medal Award!

After serving our country, Det. Maye worked at Veterans Affairs and obtained an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies. She went on to join the Cleveland Division of Police in 2001, serving in the First District, then the Fourth.

In her time within the Division, she has achieved the rank of Detective in the Domestic Violence Unit. Detective Maye states that her faith was “tested” after a traumatic event on the job, yet “through GOD and prayers from friends and family, I persevered and continue to proudly serve our community with strength, fairness and compassion.”

Did you know that Detective Maye assisted the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. at the 57th Presidential Inauguration of President Barack Obama?

Det. Stephanie Maye is recognized as the BSPA's Officer of the Month for August 2019 for her service to our country and the citizens of Cleveland. We are proud of her accomplishments - today and every day.
